Tea – New Emerging Options & Blends

Some of the biggest food trends this year have been all about mushrooms (more to come on this!) and in particular, teas. Emerging tea options include Kombucha, Moringa Tea, and non-alcoholic Sparkling Tea, offering exciting and refreshing alternatives.

Tea shops and consumers have been experimenting with distinctive flavors like saffron, lavender, basil, nutmeg or rosemary. In addition, fusing tea flavors has captured the interest of many tea drinkers. Here are a few tea trends (as excerpted from Teavision) that are going on, and at Midwest Mermaid Muse, we’ve been experimenting and creating teas that include many of them:

  1. Health and Wellness: The increasing awareness of the health benefits associated with tea consumption has been driving the demand for tea worldwide. Consumers are increasingly looking for natural and healthier beverage options, and tea, with its various antioxidants and potential health benefits, fits the bill.
  2. Premiumization: There is a growing interest in specialty and high-quality teas. Consumers are willing to pay a premium for unique tea varieties, such as rare teas, single-origin teas, and artisanal blends. This trend is driven by consumers’ desire for unique and authentic experiences.
  3. Innovative and Flavored Teas: Innovative tea blends and flavors are being introduced to cater to evolving consumer preferences. Flavored teas, such as herbal blends, fruit-infused teas, and exotic flavors, have gained popularity among tea drinkers.
  4. Sustainable and Ethical Sourcing: Consumers are increasingly conscious of the environmental and social impact of their choices. This has led to a growing demand for sustainably and ethically sourced teas. Tea companies that prioritize fair trade practices and environmentally friendly production methods are likely to attract more consumers.

We recently have added a few teas to our shop and encourage you to check these blends out. Just click on the tea name to go to its store page for more information on ordering:
